Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I have been teaching a 6 unit Community College Course for the last two semesters and I was not asked back to teach this semester. In essence I was fired but not really. No issues surrounding the decision to not ask me back, the students and other faculty all liked me and we all got along. I was responsible for improving the graduation rate from the program and for the program improvement on a national standardized test. Do I have any recourse to get my class back?

You're not the only one that is going to be let go. The state is bankrupt and in the near future will not be issuing paychecks. Look for a job that will survive in the coming economic collapse.
