Legal Question in Employment Law in California

So I worked for a police dept. under a temporary contract for 6 months. I was just recently terminated from the position due to something they "found" in my background. After asking them what it was I found out it was pertaining to my last job which I had already disclosed to them during the initial interview and also the interview with the background investigator. They terminated me much after all of this 1 month before my contract was over. My question is do they have a right to do this or do I have a case against them for wrongful termination? Also they had already put me on the new schedule for the whole year.

I'm sorry to say that I see nothing in your question to suggest you have a claim of any sort against your former employer.

If you are a union member, I suggest you speak with your union representative to see if there is anything that can be done. You may have rights under a collective bargaining agreement.
