deposit

i was in the market for an apartment found one i liked went in did credit check the lanlord told me to insure me getting the apartment i would need to put and deposit down so my move in date was going to be the 10th of oct 08 the date came for me to move in they had not returned any of my calls nore was i able to talk to them about moving in so i started looking else ware for an apartment now they are telling me i cant get the deposit back i never singed any rentiel parpers for the apartment is there a way i could get my money back?

You can hire an attorney, and maybe they will return your money very quickly in response to a demand letter, or you can take them to small claims court. They really don't (based upon the limited facts you have presented) have a right to keep your deposit. Good luck.
