Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Hello, I was given verbal permission to live with my friend at her home, rent free, as long as I became her caregiver and helped her with the maintaining of her house, as well as helping her with things like cooking, cleaning, picking up medications for her, and whatever else she needed help with. I had been living with her for the past 11 years. She recently passed away, now her brother who verbally agreed to give me 12 months to move out when she first passed away is asking me to move out in 15 days, do I have any rights? Finding somewhere affordable to rent in California is difficult to do in such short notice. Is there anyway to get them to give me at least 90 days? I offered to pay utilities, and help in anyway I can to let them let me stay for a few months while I find an apartment, but they refused.
