Legal Question in Legal Ethics in California

I walked out on my boss. Two customers were threatning and harrassing me. I told my boss. This went on for three months before I walked out. He lent me $600 for a car. We agreed on $100 dollar every two weeks out of every paycheck. When I went to get my payhe told me I owed him $40 from car and in store tab. He said he would let me get unemployment if I didnt bad mouth him and if I told them I was laid off because it was slow. Im also on informal probation and he said he would tell them that I stole and did drugs if I told anybody that he hides money from IRS and pays no holiday or overtime pay. My fiance thinks I should leave it alone. Dont know what to do. He keeps texting stop bad mouthing or no unemployment.
