Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in California

I was sent a letter from a lawyer who wants to discuss a case in which I was a nurse for a patient who has filed a lawsuit against the hospital I used to work at. Should I talk to her, or will discussing the case make me an automatic witness in court?

Attorneys rely on the honest input of nurses to determine the facts of the case. Unless you have been contacted by the hospital's attorney, your input will be of great value in assessing the case.
