Legal Question in Personal Injury in California
I have a pending lawsuit against Merck due to using Nuvaring in which I suffered serious complications that hospitalized me. I recently read that certain risk factors could cause complications such as age and obesity. I am 41 and I'm not obese but I was slightly overweight at the time of using this product. I have never had any health problems until I used Nuvaring, do you think the risk factors will go against me in deciding the outcome of my case?

Don't you have any damages? Are you just suing because other people are suing?
You will almost certainly need a doctor's expert testimony to support your case, and to counter Merck's medical experts. You should ask your doctor whether your weight had likely any impact. Failing that, you should ask your lawyer. And if you have neither a medical expert nor a lawyer, you should get one ASAP.
