rape burglary and landlord liability california

I was raped and assaulted by an intruder in my rental house. Is my landlord liable for personal injury damages? I asked the landlord to replace an old door to my bedroom . The landlord never replaced it. I put a lock on it myself, but you can still push it open with it locked if you push hard. Is the landlord negligent?

If a landlord had notice of an unsafe condition, and he did not take reasonable steps to correct it, then you have an arguable case for negligence. Only a jury can tell you for sure.
