Abstract Judgement-Deed in Lieu Processed

If an abstract judgement is recorded on an individual (Debtor)during the time they are on title to a property, but then they do not make their payments and rather than going through the foreclosure process, the individual (debtor) signs the property back over to the original owner (Deed in Lieu) and no money ever exchanged hands. Is the Original owner that now has the property back in their name liable for the individual's (debtor) abstract judgement that was linked to the property while on title or is it released from the property and continues to follow the individual (debtor)?

The property comes back to the original property owner with the lien on it and it will remain until the lien is satisfied from either that property or from other property or asset of the debtor.
