Legal Question in Traffic Law in California
Trial by declaration--when no notification comes
I recently received a ''fix-it'' ticket for registration, combined with a ''no proof of insurance'' citation. I did have insurance at the time, and subsequently handled my registration. I filed a ''Trial By Declaration'' by certified mail providing all the necessary documentation weeks ago, but haven't heard or received anything from the court.
I don't want to be pulled over on some minor traffic violation and find out there a bench for me warrant or something because my Trial by Declaration wasn't processed or something. How can I find out about the status?

Call the clerk of the court and ask about the status of your case. Have the court file number ready for the court clerk. If that is not successful then go to the court and look at the file.
