Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

There are 5 heirs to my Aunt's estate, currently one is being petitioned to be replaced by another heir. None of the other heirs were asked if they wanted to be a personal representative which makes it look a little fishy. Three of the five heirs are going to contest the appointment. Is the personal representative the only one who can replace the attorney? The case is in probate court in South Carolina.

If this is in court in South Carolina, you need to post this question for lawyers there. Attorneys licensed in California can not practice law in South Carolina (unless they apply specially for a particular case), including giving legal opinions on matters local to that State.
