Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

if my mother signed a durable power of attorney with my sister as attorney in fact for herself ( my mom ). she signed this in 06 before my father died. It was not notirized until 09. Was is legally in effect before it became notarized in 09?

In California a power of attorney, whether durable or general, does not have to have the signed names notarized. Si it was in effect. If you feel your sister acted improperly please post another question with the detailed facts.
