Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

Ten Years Injured

I have been receiving ongoing medical treatment for ten years for a work related injury. I have been forced to fight with the insurance carrier from the moment I reported my injury to my former employer. Since August 2004, my doctor has been trying to get some medical treatment authorized for me that the insurance company is not responding to. I have written several letters and have had no response. February 23, 2006,I went to the insurance carriers website and e-mailed my complaint. Someone contacted me the next day. Due to my physical limitations and the constant demands on me and my life I asked the claims representative lead about settling my claim. I would like to know what other option I have and if I can petition to reopen my case. I was awarded a lifetime medical award in 1998. My hope is to not have to deal with the insurance carrier anymore regarding medical treatment. They have made my life a living nightmare every step of the way.

Re: Ten Years Injured

If the carrier is not authorizing medical treatment, then you should file for an expedited hearing.
