Legal Question in Family Law in Colorado

exercising visitation rights while living in another state

I pay child support for a daughter whos mother and I were never married, and I don't have a current physical address for, except for the state of colorado. How can I exercise my visitation rights while currently living in california, and not being able to locate her? I currently send all of my child support payments through the mesa county child support office in grand junction, colorado.

Re: exercising visitation rights while living in another state

You should start by contacting the colorado support agency and request her address. If that is not successful then contact the local da's office child abduction unit for assistance. If neither of these approaches are successful then file an exparte application with the court in which the custody orde is filed and request that the court order either the production of the child's address or serve mother with a motion to establish visiation.
