Legal Question in Family Law in Colorado

Where do I file?

My friend was married in Colorado and is a truck driver. His wife is still in Co. and he wants to file for a divorce. His address now is in Washington state. Where does he need to file?

Re: Where do I file?

Where people are married is irrelevant.

A divorce must be filed in a jurisdiction (county and state) where one of the parties lives. If wife is in Washington, then that is one of the places a divorce can be filed. If he has lived in Texas for 6 months and in the same county for 90 days, then he can file in that county.
