Filing for divorce in two different states

My wife who lives in Oklahoma has filed a petition for dissolution of marriage but there has not yet been a summons isssued. Can I file in Colorado before a summons has been issued?

In order to determine whether the Colorado courts have jurisdiction in your case, I would need additional information from you. For example, you would need to be domiciled in Colorado for at least 90 days prior to filing for divorce here. In addition, there other important factors that must be considered. For example, if there are children, where do they reside? In which state have you and your wife lived together? In which state is your property located? These factors must be analyzed to determine which state has jurisdiction.
