Legal Question in Family Law in Colorado

Suing Dept of Human Services

I am curious if I would have a case to sue the Dept. of Human Services because they failed to change the child support registry to show compliance of payments. I was arrested on 09-26-04 for driving when license under restraint because they suspended my license 01-21-04. I was never notified of my license being suspended. They said they had not recieved a payment for my child support. My payment history from them shows a payment received on 01-09-04 and another on 01-21-04. Therefore I was in compliance and should not have been suspended. It cost me $60.00 to have my license reinstated and embarassment for the arrest and my wife to have to take off work to drive over 100 miles to get me. Is there anything I can do about this incident.

Thank you for contacting The Harris Law Firm, and thank you for your question.

While it may be possible to sue we would not be the firm to handle that for you. You will need to contact an attorney who specializes in civil litigation. Good luck!
