Legal Question in Family Law in Colorado

wife leaving the country

If my wife went to live in another country, How would I divorce her?

She is filipino and after two years she decided that she did not want to live in america anymore.

Could I do it without hiring an attorney? Please tell me how or give contact info.

Re: wife leaving the country

Whether you can divorce your wife if she moved to another country depends on where you were married, where you and your wife live now, and how long you have lived in that location (or locations). Generally, if your wife is currently a Colorado resident, you can initiate a divorce proceeding (called a "dissolution") by filling out a petition for dissolution and filing the petition in the district court for the county in which your wife resides. You can fill out the petition yourself, but before filing it, you should consult with an attorney.
