Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Colorado

warrant

I got a speeding ticket in colorado. I wasn't able to pay it on time and received a warrant. They said I must pay the bond then later appear in court. I'm from california and unable to attend. What can I do from here? I've called them asking if I can transfer the case here, but they said no I my only option is to show up.

Re: warrant

You either appear in person in Colorado, or hire an attorney from there. Call the local Lawyer Referral Service or the local Bar Association there. He can handle it without your presence. Be prepared to pay him for his time, and for the court to zap you with a fine for your 'failure to appear' in addition to the ticket. It still will be cheaper than you taking off work and traveling there.
