Regulations of the Police

Are the police allowed to enter a house uninvited? If the police are not given allowence to enter can they come in anyway?

Authorized law enforcement officers may legally enter a private dwelling only if they (1) have the permission of a legal resident of the dwelling, (2) they have a search warrant from a proper court permitting them to do so, (3) they are in hot pursuit of a felon who flees into a dwelling, or (4) they have probable cause to suspect drug transactions are being conducted in the dwelling and the evidence will disappear before they have a chance to get a warrant.
