Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Colorado

Car Trouble?

A former family friend said they

had interest in purchasing a

vehicle I own for $3800. I took

the vehicle to her with the intent

of finalizing the transaction back

in November 2005. Upon arrival,

we obtained only $1000. She said

the remainder would be in

tomorrow. I decided to leave the

vehicle because I had made

arrangements for transportation

the long distance home. Plus, she

wa a family friend. To cut a long

story short, we have not received

the remaining $2800. We have

talked several times and I have

even sttempted to go to her

house to no avail. every time, I

will have the money soon... she

also agreed to a $1.00 a day

interest fee. I fear the vehicle is

lost, but I want to see if I have

any legal recourse, ie. call the

police etc.

Re: Car Trouble?

Who has the title? If you do, you can report the car as stolen or as taken under false pretenses. If they do, you will have to sue them for the money owed.
