Legal Question in Traffic Law in Colorado

Hit and Run/ Stolen Vehicle

I was involved in a hit and run accident in CO, I fled the seen for fear that i might get a DUI. after fleeing the scene i abondend the vehicle only to call the police to report it stolen. When the officer arrived he advised me that the car had been involved in a hit and run accident and that it was located with out damage to the steering colum and sitting in the police impound. He then gave me paperwork requesting that i appear at the the police admin building to speak with an investigator. I spoke with the investigator gave him a statement that my vehicle was stolen and listed times and event that took place. After doing to I asked how I would be able to recover my vehilce he stated that he was unsure of that due to the fact that he needs to find the responisble party for the accident and that secondly he does not think it was stolen. At this point in time im not sure what to i feel like just facing the music and getting this mess past me.
