Legal Question in Traffic Law in Colorado

I was pulled over in the Mountain View Colorado(Small Denver "City)for a cracked windshield. I was then ticketed for not having a paper copy of proof of insurance. My mistake, I was insured. I am wondering if a cracked windshield is a first offense in Colorado? I have to fly back home to go to court to show proof of insurance. $$$ Is it possible to hire an attorney for an hour to show in court with my insurance documents. It would be significantly cheaper than three days off work and a $500 plane ticket.

Thank You!

You can.

I suggest you fax a copy of your POI to the court and city attorney. They should then dump the NPOI ticket. Then call the city attorney and see if you can cut a deal without having to appear, since all that is left is an equipment violation.

If that won't work, then hire an attorney.
