Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

Child custody

A couple moves from Dallas to CT 3 months ago(Sept 04), renting, no job as of yet. Wife is a full-time, stay at home mother of two, ages 6 & 9, for the past ten years. Wife grew up in Maine where she has extended family and friends. Husband grew up in Philli, PA. Wife has filed for divorce in CT and wants to move she and her kids to Maine to live. Husband wants to stay in CT. Husband's vocation is not industry specific and in finance. There is no reason for living in CT other that originally it seemed like a nice place to live - no family or friends near by. Kids have only just started in their new school and meeting kids in the neighborhood.

QUESTION: (1) What are the chances the court will let her move she and her children to Maine? And what are the chances of moving the kids sooner than later before they get ''entrenched'' in CT and have to get ''up-rooted'' and start all over again in Maine?

Chances are good that she'll get to move to ME w/ the kids, but it could easily take 6-8 months to get a study done and get a hearing.

First off, atleast one of you have to live in CT for atleast 12 months before you can get a divorce judgment. Your better approach is to withdraw the divorce action and just move to Maine. Just make sure you are clear with your husband (in writing and verbally) that he can see the kids and have them on a liberal basis.
