Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

Is a new spouse responsible for my child support debt?

I am a 26 year old female who had a child very young, I owe back child support and am in the middle of trying to correct and get caught up with it. Recently I moved in with my BF, and he was concerened that the state of RI could come after him for my child support debt. He just purchased the house, my name is no where on it. I do not work yet as I am looking for a job. Can they go after him to support my daughter? Whom he has never even met?
