Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

My step-father wants to adopt me as an adult for inheritance reasons. Will this sever my biological father as my legal father? This I don't want... The state that the adoption would take place is CT.

Why doesn't your step-father just draft a will and include you as a beneficiary. This is a much easier approach.
