Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Connecticut

Stolen artwork

In 2004, I lived in Connecticut and had a friend that was the owner of a mortgage brokerage firm. In conversation, he volunteered to frame some artwork that I had. I had 16 pieces of artwork. I gave him my artwork for framing. I checked back with him a month later to see the status of the artwork. He kept making excuses, ''not ready'', etc. Every time I checked back with him there was an excuse. I have my original certificates from purchasing the artwork. What are my legal remedies for this situation?

Re: Stolen artwork

File a lawsuit against him. If it is low dollar amounts, then you need to file in small claims court. If it is higher dollar amount, then in the regular court. Of course, don't wait too long - he may not have them any longer and there are statutes of limitation that bar you from suing if it goes too long.
