Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Connecticut

privacy issue

while i was away for two weeks, my property mgr. entered my apt. without my permission. she needs 24 hr. notice . this is stated in my lease, unless it is an emergency, which there was none. several people saw her do this. she believes my brother lives with me . which he does not and i have shown her some of his rent reciepts for his residence in another town. It bothers me because I have several medications, all of my bills were out on my desk and I feel violated that she could just walk in with no real reason.

I am a seinor and I live alone. can this be done legally ?

I hav'ent slept nights worring about this, i'm afraid to leave my home for long periods of time. please help

Re: privacy issue

The best thing to do is to write her a letter noting that you are aware that she visited your apartment while you were gone. Tell her that it makes you uncomfortable to have her enter the apartment without your presence and that per the lease she should give 24 hours notice.

Offer to let her know when you will be out of town in the future so she does not schedule any inspections during that time. Copy the owner of the complex.

I am assuming you are renting the apartment and that it is not a cono.
