Legal Question in Personal Injury in Connecticut

dog bite

I recently pickup a dog from a family was getting rid of it I have 3 kids 2,4,6 the dog was posted as being good with kids i had the dog for only 16hrs and it attacked my 2yr old daugther i am wondering should i sue for the charges i accquired for disposal of the dog and her injuries

I wouldnt say you have much of a case. As the old saying goes, even though it was only 16 hours, it was still "your dog, Charlie Brown." At the time of the biting you were the owner and keeper, not the person who sold it to you, thereby taking you out of the realm of a strict liability dog bite case.

You might find a lawyer who would take the breach of contract theory on an hourly basis, but I just dont see much there at all.
