Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Connecticut

Distribution time frame

I am named beneficiary of a trust. The Donors are both deceased, with last passing away recently. The trust is made up of cash and real-estate. What is a reasonable amount of time after the death of the last donor, for the distribution to begin? Can the cash be distributed before the real-estate, or must it be held until real-estate is sold?

Assuming there are no contrary instructions in the trust, the cash can be distributed right away. The trustee has to keep enough to pay any taxes or probate fees, however. Does the trustee have discretion as to when to distribute specifically set out in the trust?
