how much is a lawyer entitled to when you settle a case in washington dc . is it 12% or 20% or do they just get paid by the hour.thank you

The D.C. Dept. of Employment Services must approve any award of compensation to the attorney. It's my understanding that these compensation claims are usually based on hourly work billings of services performed rather than on any particular percentage of the worker's compensation award.
