Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
Collecting after winning a lawsuit
Hi. I won a lawsuit for 50,000 dollars that someone borrowed and didnt return to me. I still have not received a penny. The person has a fictitious name on sunbiz.org with his business that he is sole proprietor of; I assume he has a business account because he accepts credit cards and therefore must have a tax ID number. How do I go about garnishing his wages or collecting my money. Can I motion to garnish his wages? My lawyer just keeps telling me how expensive its going to be to collect and that I need to get the defendants bank acct info (which he should have gotten in the deposition). Thank you for your time.

Re: Collecting after winning a lawsuit
From the facts you have provided, it appears that it may be a relatively simple process to recover a portion, or perhaps, all the money you are owed.
If you would like to discuss the garnishment process, please feel free to contact me at your convenience.
