Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Debt Collector Contact

I received a call from a debt collector at my place of employment. My fiance' received the written notice in his name, for the debt. He disputed the debt in writing the the agency. I still haven't received any notice in writing with my name on it. Was the collector able to contact me via the phone without my prior knowledge of the supposed debt? Were they permitted to contact me at work? Were they able to contact either of us if we've already disputed the amount in writing? Is this harassment? Is there any recourse??

Re: Debt Collector Contact

Please contact my office. It appears the agency might have violated the fair debt collection practices act.
