can a debt-collection company,garnish your wages for that debt???these are credit card accounts that were written off and sold by the original creditor.thank you

If they are a granted a judgment from the court, then garnishment is an option to them to enforce the judgment. If you are not aware of the judgment, it is possible they filed a Complaint (initiate a lawsuit against you) and you failed to file an Answer with the court within 20 days; they would then be able to obtain a Default Judgment against you.
