Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

I got a divorce in 1995, Divorce decree was that x husband pay marital bills. I am getting harassed from a company for non payment. They are going to confiscate my disability. What do I need to do to stop that and to get the Motion to Comply enforced? I've taken him back to court twice and all he gets is a kind repremend. When motion was given he was threatened with jail time.

The company was given copy of decree and motion and they don't care. I am at a loss.

Hi. Unfortunately for you, the company will never care. They will continue to go after both of you until someone pays. Your only recourse is to go back to court on the motion and either get him to pay or have him thrown in jail. If none of that gets you paid, you will need to negotiate a settlement on your own behalf with the collector.

If they are harassing you and or threating you, this may be a violation of the FDCPA. I suggest you see a consumer lawyer in your area also. For a consumer lawyer in your area, go to
