Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

My spouse has incured a lot of credit card debt. It has gone beyond collection agents. One company has filed with the court. The spouse ignored the 20 day response to the court and six mos later there is a final judgement. That law office is asking for all the assets and MY personal info: employer, SS#, income. We live in FL. Am I responsible for this credit debt? I am not on these accts. Can I state on the info form N/A since I am not on these unsecured accts? Can they force the sale of property or vehicles? I have asked the spouse to file bankrupcy and get no response. Can they garnish my wages, the spouse is self employed. I am desperate, please respond!!

You are not responsible for your spouses debts. You should not be required to give personal information regarding yourself. See my website for information on this under garnishments and debt violations. Want to know the law? Is the judgment against you also? If not you do not need to worry. If judgment is also against you, and you did not sign for these debts, than you need to consult with an attorney to address that issue ASAP.
