statute of limitation

I recently went to court about a credit card. asummons was issued on 01/23/08 and a notice of default on 04/22/08 and nothing else was done until 01/14/09 when they did a notice of filing and there after i went to court on 06/17/09. even though the statute limitation ended in nov 08 know one could tell how long a creditor has to take you to even after the statute of limitation has expired. do i still have any legal ground to stand on

According to what you've written, they filed their lawsuit before the statute of limitations expired, so you may not have that defense, but you should show your paperwork to a lawyer to be sure.
