Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

My wife has received a notice that a credit collection agency is seeking a judgement on a approx $3000 credit card debt. She is a stay at home mom and has not worked in over 10 years. She has no real property in her name and hasn't for several years. I, her husband, am not on the credit card and not listed as a defendant in the case. I am the only one with an income. My question is if they render a judgement against her, can they come after my money and property or only what they can prove is hers. The reason I ask is we have joint checking account.

Before they can get a judgment you can ask them to prove it. 10 years is a long time, they probably have no records. Answer the pleading they sent and appear for the heairng.

It may be they will owe you if you work this right.

And oh yes, if they get a judgment and you have joint checking and savings accounts - yes they will attach them.
