Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

3 felonies and a misdemeanor

My brother is 17 being tried as an adult. He is facing three felonies and a misdemeanor. He and his friends broke in to someones house and stole some gaming systems and an assault rifle. The rifle has not been found. His 'friend' organized everything. My brother is a good kid, I don't know why he's hanging out with thugs. The arraignment was today, judge let him go home on GPS tracking until April 23rd. This is his first and only offense. What are some things that he can do until his court date to help convince the judge to go easy on him. This has been a big enough scare for his first time messing up that he won't be into it again. But if they charge him I can see him getting bitter, not better. What can he do for the next two weeks to put him on the judges good side?

Re: 3 felonies and a misdemeanor

I wouldn't play any games with these offenses. Your brother is in a tough position. He can still be treated as a juvenile or an adult. As an adult he may be eligible for youthful offender sanctions or possibly a diversion program depending on the charges. I would highly recommend you contact an attorney in the area to assist your brother with this case. A private attorney will have more time to work the case and to present a thorough argument to the court. Moses and Rooth is a local firm in the area. I have attached their web address. http://www.mosesandrooth.com/
