Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

additional money to primary parent.

My husband is paying $500 a month in child support for one child here in Florida. The ex took him back to court a couple years ago to increase ch supp but did not get it cause he is paying state max. Last March she took him to court to get back money of half of all medical including copayments (that was in the orig div but never enforced) somehow they convinced make him pay $100 a mnt toward the 2,000 back medical of which he has paid on time for the last year. Now we went back again the other day cause she wants him to pay half of all the NEW medical bills that come in during this time. This includes contact lens' that he was never consulted for and this was noted in this new hearing the other day. The ''hearing officer'' kept asking if she could prove that he has the ability to pay and she could not. (They are both pro se.) It seemed she would rule in his favor for him to keep paying the 100. and that she could not include the contacts since the ex did confirm to the hearing officer that she did not confer with her former husband about the expense of these lenses - he already has glasses. In the mail today came the decision of the hearing officer for him to pay the $111. without delay. How can we appeal this decision? Thanks

Re: additional money to primary parent.

If your zip code is listed correctly, you're in St. Petersburg. In Pinellas County, they have a form available called an "Exception to Hearing Officer's Report." File that form within 30 days of the hearing officer's decision and you can take your case to the family law judge.

You'll probably also want to get a lawyer, otherwise you may just keep getting beat up again and again.
