Annulment

If you were only married for six months, can you get your marriage annulled, or do you have to file for divorce?

If the marriage was valid, i.e., legally performed, not a result of fraud or misrepresentation, and you and the other party lived as a married couple, then you must petition for a dissolution of the marriage.
