child visatation

My son's children live with his ex-girlfreinds mother and father they have temp. custody. I was award visitation every other weekend, but they will not let me see them. Are they in contempt?

Without more facts, I am not sure. Bet if you go before the judge (which you would anyhow on a contempt charge) I will bet the judge will straighten them out.

Let him spell out the perimeters of the visits when: the child was sick, I was sick, I had no gas, and on and on and on.

Take the wind out of their sails.

Yes, it would appear so. You need to file a Motion for Contempt and schedule it for hearing. If you don't know how to do this on your own, then hire a family law attorney to help you.
