Computing child support with 2 children with 1 parent, 1 with the other

My ex, the primary custodial parent is seeking a modification of child support. However, simultaneous to this, one of my 3 children is coming to live with me and go to school here (she's in TX but divorce was in FL). My daughter has chosen to live with me (13 yrs old) and my ex agrees, as she and her new husband, and my daughter do not get along. Q: Will 2 of the children offset each other and I will owe the guideline amount for only 1 child? I have been unable to get an answer from my less than ''crack'' attorney.

Technically, the child support for the two children will not "offset" each other so that you end up just paying for one child. Last time I checked on this I found a line of cases (Winters case etc.)that describes how to calculate child support when the children are split into 2 households. The formula is a bit confusing to figure out but once done it is fairly easy to apply. Contact your attorney to help figure the formula and check the updated case law.
