Marriage license

i need my NYC marriage license for

health insurance but the NYC record

bureau cannot find it. I currently live in

Florida. Can my husband of 35 years

and I just go and get a marriage license

in Florida?

You could get a marriage license in Florida, but you'd have to get remarried. In other words, you'd have to do another ceremony, even if it was a simple one with a notary public. You'd be starting a whole new marriage. No Florida law forbids that, but I'd be afraid you might have problems with social security, retirement, etc. It would also affect you if you ever got divorced.

Maybe you could ask a New York lawyer if there is some way to reestablish your marriage certificate in New York.
