If the marriage is over, it is over. If she opts to file for divorce, you can fight over the kids, house and everything else, but you will not be able to stop the divorce.

Until a Court gets involved, there is nothing "illegal" if either party takes the kids. However, if either party opts to "take" the kids, and/or attempts to frustrate the other parent's relationship with the kids, the Court might hold that against that parent when deciding custody. If the Court gets involved, it might issue a temporary custody decision, or other action such as an injunction.

If you opt to proceed without the assistance of counsel, be aware that you will not be entitled to a do over if things go badly.

An internet inquiry is no substitution for an in-office consultation with an attorney.
