Legal Question in Insurance Law in Florida

hurricane insurance

House was destroyed. Not livable.

I've gone thru 2 major hurricanes in the last month. Insurance agents came out and initially were very helpful. Now 3 weeks have passed and have not seen one thing from them, eventhough they keep promising this and that (ie money) I've had a roofer and a contractor in place 2 days after the first hurricane, both of which came in with very resonable and competitive bids, yet insurance company is ''negotiating'' with them. What do I do at this point? Wait them out, get an attorney, report them to the insurance commissioner's office? Any info would be appreciated. By the way I'm living with my destitute mother, I haven't worked since the hurricnes came through, and I am seeing all my savings disappear.

P.S. this is being written at a public library

Re: hurricane insurance

You should retain an attorney or licensed insurance adjustor to help in this claim. They work on a contingency basis.
