Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Can I take action

I was fired from my job at the beginning of Nov. I was told that I had done nothing wrong but that they had the opportunity to hire a previous employee who had moved back into town and had more experience. I was paid for a full week (Monday through Friday) but worked until Wednesday. The next morning (Thursday) the previous employee was at the sales meeting. The owner had another employee (that had come back to help) fire me. What legal action can I take against this company. I never signed anything when I was fired.

Re: Can I take action

You are an at will employee in Florida. Your employer can terminate you for no reason, any reason other than discrimination or retaliation, or even a mistaken or wrong reason. From your facts, I don't think you have any relief. Florida is not a right-to-work state where you can only be terminated for cause.
