Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

Evicting a person

The question I have is complicated. My mother passed away on 11/27/05. The property that she and my step-father shared was in HER name only, and was transfered to me up on her death. The property is now in MY name only. My step-father is not trying to show/sell them home without my concent and knowledge. Do I have the legal right to change the locks on the house before starting an eviction process? And if so, since he was never really a ''tenet'' per-say, how would that document be worded?
