Im renting a home, I have 7 months left on the lease, although the house I'm renting is behind some apartments that are getting terrible with crime, my daughter has to catch the bus infront of this place, the cops had this place surronded with semi rifels, helicopter the whole 9, i also have a neighbor that upset the neighborhood just saturday night by chasing a family of women with a machete, the same thing took place, cops everywhere, with guns and everything, I found an apartment, but I want to know if I can break my lease due to the crime thats going on

You can but you will probably lose your deposit. HOwever, have your police reports on hand in the event the landlord decides to take you to court. If your lease states that you are to have security this would make a good case that you are not receiving security. HOWEVER, if your lease does not provide a security clause, then the police reports will back up that the environment is not safe under any conditions and perhaps the court will allow you to not only break the lease but get a return of your deposit.
