Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Florida

My father was in a center for rehabilitation after a shoulder injury. He suffers from Parkinsons. He was in for two weeks (approx) when the doctor wrote the orders for his release (this was also the day that his insurance stopped paying 100% of his rehabilitation). He put his light on for help to go the the rest room after waiting 30 min. he went by himself and fell he did not injur himself but he did have to stay for another week. He is now required to pay $634.00.
I feel that it was the center's fault that he fell and had to stay and that they should be the ones to pay the $634.00
